86461 2002-10-05 22:25:00 I have never heard of Kaspersky before, Is it a free program and how does it compare with AVG. Jim B (153)
86462 2002-10-06 06:23:00 Kaspersky is a russian anti virus program. I find it the best virus software available. It has an automatic daily update to keep it up to date with latest protection and in tests I have read in overseas magazines it is rated as no 1. It can be purchased on the net at www. kaspersky.com. It protects everything I ownload and it checks all files on my computer running in the background. Reguards Ron norrol (2154)
86463 2002-10-06 06:58:00 These files are your restore point files. Your system was obviously infected when a restore was created.

As you dont comment on what OS you are using, cant be more specific. Assume its ME or XP, but which?

The restore files are system files. I believe that if you disable the restore function it will delete all the stored points, which is OK, as you wouldnt want to roll them back anyway. Check your system HELP files for instructions.

86464 2002-10-06 08:53:00 Yes they are your system restore files that are infected but I would check the actual virus first. I currently have 14 files on my computer which are harmless joke .exe files including the old can holder ( cd drawer) file that one of my Anti Virus apps declares is a virus.
Disable your system restore and you will find the restore points dissapear and your anit virus will run through nice and happy. Don't forget to restore your System Restore once you are done.
