| 87010 | 2002-10-07 22:18:00 | XP Home Edition - I have difficulty shutting down my PC. After the screen that shows "saving your settings", my PC can take anything from a few minutes to many hours to turn off. Sometimes it doesn't turn off at all. Just locks onto that screen. Then needs re-booting. Of course comes up with disc checks etc. And I have to re input ADSL passwords etc. Any ideas? |

| 87012 | 2002-10-08 01:21:00 | I originally had ME then bought the XP upgrade from Dick Smiths. From there it invited me to update from the website which I did. Since then I think I have updated twice when prompted. I've had this problem from day one. | Redline (2174) | ||
| 87013 | 2002-10-08 01:24:00 | Do an update now, and see if that makes a difference. If you can, get hold of (or download) the Service Pack 1 for Windows XP. This is a known problem with Windows XP, and I think an update should fix it (I'm not certain though). If not, post back and we'll see if we can find another solution. Mike. |
