86812 2002-10-07 08:10:00 I recently brought a Triplex Geforce 4 Ti4200 Video Card. It includes Video In/Video Out. I got an idea and connected my Digital Camera to the video card (you can connect it to the TV so I assumed I can connect it to a Graphics Card).
The problem is the Video Card doesn't seem to have come with any software to use the Video In feature. I haven't tried using the Video Out yet, is it as easy as plugging the video cable between the TV and Graphics card? Or do I need some software?
Before posting here I thought to e-mail Triplex, but they have absolutly no english support.

86813 2002-10-07 08:47:00 Don't know exactly, but often you may have to install better drivers for full functionality. I'm going by experience from the number of "OEM" cards (including video, sound and modem) having half-cut drivers installed.

Something to do with 'licensing'...

Cheers.

86814 2002-10-07 09:40:00 If it shows up in Device manager as a capture device then you will only need a video capture program to use it. If you want a good one try IuVCR at:
www.iulabs.com
It's Shareware however.

For a free solution you could use Windows Movie Maker if you have XP. Or you could download Windows Media Encoder for free from the Microsoft site:
www.microsoft.com

If it doesn't show up as a capture device in Device Manager then I think you may need better drivers from Tripex.

86815 2002-10-08 06:17:00 Thanks for your help all, I found my Digital Camera came with Video Capture Software (althought the digital camera only takes still pics?) It seems it will work althought I haven't tried it yet (it detected my Vid Card had Video In so I guess it will work) Mr. Insanity (957)
