86789 2002-10-07 07:14:00 On a machine that already had win2k on it, I started a reinstall of win2k then cancelled it properly when it got to the stage of selecting the install drive. Now when the pc starts, windows thinks there is still a setup pending. How do I get rid of the "setup windows.." option at start up? allanl (1957)
86790 2002-10-07 08:12:00 You'll need a boot disk (See FAQ for in Win2K)
Restart and type:
FDisk /MBR
That should clean it!

86791 2002-10-07 08:33:00 hmmm not sure I wanted to get that serious. The pc still works but I now get 2 boot options, one for windows 2k and one for windows 2k setup. allanl (1957)
86792 2002-10-07 08:38:00 Right click My Computer and select properties
Goto Advanced
Select Startup and recovery

Check out whats in there and set it up accordingly, try unticking the Wait for X seconds box!

Cheers
