86703 2002-10-07 04:32:00 Hi.

Can somebody please tell me if Microsoft IIS gives full PHP support, or only limited support (or any support at all)? I think it's supposed to support PHP, but for some reason it's not working, and I don't know if I can really be bothered installing the Apache server when I've already got IIS running.

Thanks

Mike.

86704 2002-10-07 04:41:00 The first link google.co.nz gives for "installing php" might give you some things to check ... I get the impression that this was written for *nix and apache, so the version Windows is an afterthought. ;-) Graham L (2)
86705 2002-10-07 07:22:00 Hmmm... this looks to be something what I want - except I don't have the right .dll file (it seems)... I guess I need to still install Apache, but not use it - then I'll have all the right files (hopefully).

Thanks Graham.

86706 2002-10-07 08:00:00 darn it, I had posted a reply before but it must've got d/c ed or something.

I've got IIS, PHP and MySQL successfully running under XP Pro. When installing PHP I just said that it was for IIS and it all just seemed to work for me.

86707 2002-10-07 08:13:00 How'd you do it?

I'm just downloading the latest PHP pack now, and then I'll follow the instructions from the site I got from Google... if that doesn't work I will want to try your way :D

86709 2002-10-07 09:06:00 ah! I downloaded the full pack, not the installation pack... I'm doing that now :)

you've got it running under XP? I followed the instructions in that page I was reading, but it wouldn't start the php service, so I'm gonna have to try this way instead :|
