87394 2002-10-09 02:21:00 Okay, Cant find that last post of mine re: this.
I want to know peoples opinion on free DV editing software.
I want it to do two things.
1:
Resize an original video (Pretty standard requirement Id think)

2:
I want to be able to slipt the audio and video, and slow down the speed of the video by 1% or maybe 1-2 FPS!

Cheers

87395 2002-10-09 02:31:00 virtualdub can do most of that. slowing down the speed of the video might be fun :)

whats exactly wrong with the video?

87396 2002-10-09 02:46:00 Its a Music Vid.... Yeah.. I downloaded it, It was the only one I could find also... MPEG.
When playing, the video plays at around 1% too fast, so the moving images finish before the song does!

I'll check out VirtualDub!

Cheers

87398 2002-10-11 02:25:00 Okay, one more thing, I've seen the quality for file size of DivX movies, is it possible to convert Mpeg-1 movies to DivX to send them across the net faster to the relatives... ??? Chilling_Silence (9)
87399 2002-10-11 02:33:00 yes and no. it depends on how they have been done origally. i coverted a few music videos. 1 i saved 10meg the other 2 meg. the other one i couldn't do much as there was a corupt part in it. tweak'e (174)
87400 2002-10-11 02:41:00 Alrighty, How then... Downloaded the Pro Ad/Ware version of DivX (Yeah.. adware.. I've got a firewall preventing it though, so I can just kill it each time I load up ThePlaya). What next?

Thanks

87401 2002-10-11 02:59:00 i suggest you cruise over to www.everwicked.com have a look in the forum. there is instructions on how to get around the spyware crap.

very roughly put open the video file with virtualdub, select output codecs (video and audio) you will need to select other optoins but that depends on how the video has been done. trick is in the divx5 codec settings. bitrate must not be bigger than what the original video plays at otherwise you will end up with a video bigger than theone you started with (with no better quality)
