the stuff i want to clean is game demos i have down loaded
of the net and off the pc world cd,s
also there is something wrong with ahead nero and was
told to clean it of completely and try to reload
i can not remember the name off the programe i tryed to clean
but it came of a pc world cd from early 2000
and i put all the sh*t on

and uninstall whatever you can from there. Also if you check the start menu, many of the programs will have an uninstall link with them...

87204 2002-10-11 08:18:00 been there and done all that but when i look in local disk
and then click on programe files and windows files i can
see lots of folders that i thought i had uninstalled but there
are still folders with stuff in it
i don,t know wether it all can be deleted safley

87205 2002-10-11 10:31:00 good rule of thumb....
if there are more than 3 or 4 files left in the folders then you probably shouldn't delete them, especially if any of the files end with .exe (if you can't see extensions click tools>folder options>view> and uncheck "hide file extensions for known file types.
if the remaining files end with .ini or .cfg then you can probably delete them....
if in doubt just post the name of the folder and the files left in it on here and someone will probably tell you if you can delete it or not...

you can also just rename the folders (for instance add a _to the start of the name) and then reboot and try running your programs as normal. if you get any errors then remove the _ from the name, because the folder is probably still needed. after a week or so if you get no errors you can delete them...
