| 87636 | 2002-10-10 01:16:00 | I uses a nokia internal adsl modem, and everytime i press the dial button and got connected to the internet (the actural stage where you can browse etc..), Internet Explorer will open by default. (Another words, IE will open automatically soon as I have connected to the Internet.) It isint like this before because previously I upgraded my WinXP PRO from win98, BUT recently i have formatted my pc and done a clean installation. I want to disable this feature, where I can open Internet Explorer when I wants to, not by default where it will pop up soon as you have connected to the net. How can I disable this? My O/S is WinXP PRO. Thanks |

| 87637 | 2002-10-10 04:19:00 | I don't know if ADSL modems are the same as ordinary dial-up ones regarding your situation, but you could try this: in Internet Explorer go to Tools>Options>Connections and select the option "Never dial a connection". It might not work, but at least someone else is bound to come in and tell me I'm wrong. :D |

You really should have posted this as a reply to godfather in your other thread as he's very knowledgeable about this sort of thing and probably would have been able to advise. It's not too late if you do it now and he'll get an email notification to have a look. Starting new threads is inclined to make people lose track of events and not be able to help as much as they could. Just so that you remember for next time. :-) |
