87686 2002-10-10 03:28:00 I have two net worked computers at home.

One has NAV.

The other does not........unfortunately.....e-mail's were downloaded to the unprotected computer...one very dubious..and looks like a virus has been unleashed. ( probably bugbear.)

Before I try...is there any reason why I can't scan and kill the virus using the NAV on this PC through a mapped drive to the networked Dirty Infected PC.

I just don't want to infect this one whilst cleaning the other one.

CAN I ??

87687 2002-10-10 03:30:00 Yep, as long as its mapped, i've done it. You can even goto:
http://www.housecall.antivirus.com and use their online one!!! That's done it for me also.

As long as you dont run the files, yoyu should be okay, unless its a virus that attacks network drives/printers.

Cheers

87688 2002-10-10 03:30:00 BTW, make sure Norton is fully up to date. They've released an update today. Chilling_Silence (9)
