88058 2002-10-11 06:53:00 If anyone has any info on a good downloadable Data Recovery app I'd love to hear from you.
The data in question is on my secondary harddrive. I have not written anything to that drive since realizing my mistaken deletion.
I'm hoping it's retrievable.
Any thoughts folks?

NTFS on a basic disk
In DOS - dskprobe.exe and norton dskedit, MS for the instructions, or
In Windows - EasyRecovery Pro, read the instructions

NTFS on a dynamic disk
Never had to recover

FAT16 or 32
In DOS - Lost and Found, read the instructions, or
In Windows - EasyRecovery Pro, read the instructions

For a good free data recovery program try

Here (home.arcor.de)

Otherwise use Norton Utilities. They cost but they work.

Good to hear that the disk drive issue/cable problem finally got sorted for you. :-)

For data recovery I personally use and recommend Nortons Tools (currently SystemWorks Pro) on DOS and Winzxxx systems, have used various Peter Norton utilities for many many years... The cost is negligible compared to the value you pout on your data (or information).

Someone on this forum mentioned a program from one of the PCWorld cover disks can't remember what that was offhand.

And then there is Computer Forensics (http://www.datarecovery.co.nz/) when all else fails or the data is REALLY important to you (and you have some $$$ to help).

Cheers, Babe.
