88063 2002-10-11 06:15:00 Hi

When you buy a whole new motherboard for your computer how would you know if the motherboard would fit into your old computer case? Can some one tell me what things I should look out for, so that when I install the motherboard it will fit properly into the case.
By the way could somebody tell me if this motherboard ( www.msicomputer.com ) can support a Duron 1.3GHz and a 3D graphic card, thanks :)

Thanks alot :)

88064 2002-10-11 07:07:00 this forum has a bug with long urls. try here instead (www.msicomputer.com)

that board has onboard graphic and no agp slot. if you really want decent 3d graphics(eg games) this board is not for you.

most cases will fit standard boards however old at style case may not. also they would need new powersupply. easier to get new case(with power supply included).

Says it will support up to 1.9 MHz Duron.
No AGP slot so you are limited to a slower PCI slot for external graphics or the low spec on-board (integrated) graphics adapter.

200/266MHz FSB, Supports AMD Duron/Athlon/Athlon XP up to 1900+
• Ultra DMA 66/100, 2 PC100/133 DIMM Sockets up to 1GB
• Integrated Trident Blade3D AGP Graphics Engine shared memory up to 8MB
• Micro-ATX Form Factor, 3 PCI, 1 CNR, AC 97, 2 USB, AGP 2x
• Realtek 8100 10/100 BaseT Ethernet

88067 2002-10-11 09:34:00 Sorry for the bad link and also for the Subject headline :( it's suppose to be Motherboard and the Case, not CPU and the case . . . :( sorry .
So, any more suggestion would be great :) , thanks :)

Thanks alot :)
