I mean when you go to internet options/connection there is nothing there, ie xtra default in the box and every thing else is greyed out . i have to take it back to the shop to fix it what can i do to fix this myself if it happens again instead of taking back to the shop ????.. win xp .. ?:| | johnboy (217) | ||

Actually, if it's a new PC, if it happens again, take it back to them and ask them to fix it properly so that it doesn't happen again. It shouldn't be happening at all! Mike. |

| 87926 | 2002-10-10 22:59:00 | Not 100% sure . . but next time should it happen again . . . go to device manager and check if the modem is present or not . Alternatively go to modem in control panel to make sure it doesn't say "Not Present" under attached to . . it should read COM x (where x is a number) I'm assuming u're using internal PCI modem . The connection only greys out when it can't find the device it uses to dial . Correct me if I'm wrong guys Cheers |
