| 88045 | 2002-10-12 06:05:00 | I did a reset hardware from regcleaner which effectively wiped out all my drivers had to do a clean reinstall of windows dont do things at 3am when half asleep. My friend moved his HDDs and bent pins My boarder did a repartition of my hdd explained he thought he was converting 98 into fat 32 of course i lost all my data . tried to overclock friends memory of course found out later that it wasnt sd 133 but 100 and the PC would not even boot up. Plugged in a power cable to my dvd drive while PC was on result dead dvd drive lucky nothing else was damaged . brought a external 2x scsi drive for more than it was worth then paid $245 for a scsi card then realised it wouldnt read cdrw or cds over 650 megs GHeeezze what a pain IDE cdrws are the best way to go faster and cheap as too now. |

Data was still there, but Windows only sw unallocated space. Restroed almost everything from backups, and stuff that was lost was easily obtained again, but an app like that would have saved me the trouble of restoring 20GB from CD's G P |
