You should have run with it when you had the chance, Greg. Pretty very successful idea wasn't it? :D

But don't forget who sparked your idea off in the first place: Argus. Speaking of whom, I have finally, at long long last, received his screenshot and have put it up here (www.mscandy.orcon.net.nz).

Thanks Argus! :-)

88316 2002-10-19 07:57:00 Susan B Thanx (in advance) for putting up my desktop if you can, no worries if you can't - I've just emailed it through to you.

There are some VERY kewl desktops out there - I'm feeling very inspired!

Cheers

88317 2002-10-19 08:20:00 Thanks Sharkey, that's a nice desktop you've got. I've posted it here (www.mscandy.orcon.net.nz). I'd love to know what all those programs are that you have in your taskbar/tray.

Any chance of you sending me the original .jpg or putting it on Liam's site for other people too? In fact I reckon everyone should be sending their .jpgs to Liam so we can all share. :D

88318 2002-10-19 08:28:00 I agree, send all your wallpaper jepg's to me, I’ve still got about sixty Megs free space on my server; http://www.desktop.net.nz

And while you’re sending it check out http://www.chatf1.net.nz ; PressF1's new chat room!

Cheers

88319 2002-10-20 06:43:00 Hey Susan,

Thanx for putting that up - I've emailed it to Liam too. I did send through a jpg and gif, but I guess the jpg didn't make it??

The programs in my system tray are:

- Unplug or Eject Hardware
- DSL connection
- Norton's Personal Firewall
- Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
- DirectCD
- Disc Detector
- MusicMatch JukeboxPlus
- Norton's Anti-Virus
- Palm Desktop Alarm Manager
- MSN Messenger
- Local Area Connection (unplugged at mo)
- Palm Hotsync
- Jetstart/Dial-up connection

In the right-hand side app tray:

- Show Desktop
- MSIE
- MS Outlook Express
- Command Prompt
- Windows Explorer
- Lotus Notes
- Diablo II
- Battlefield 1942
- DCPlusPlus (NZ p2p network - www.p2p.net.nz)
- Creative Playcenter
- Kazaa (about to delete this - spyware already dealt with)

All of the games are for my better 5% and his brother, who lives with us. MusicMatch JukeboxPlus, Creative Playcenter and the p2p programs, plus all the Palm stuff, are all me.

I work for a major site publisher and my fiance is an IS Manager, so we're mega-geek couple.

I like a very clean desktop with easy access to frequently used programs (unless it interfere's with start-up or navigation).

Cheers

88320 2002-10-20 06:59:00 Thanks for that Sharkey, it must be a pretty grunty machine to cope with that lot. My poor old girl would just fall over. :D

Yes, both the jpg and gif came through OK - it was the world map pic that I was referring to. Was kinda hoping to "borrow" one for myself for when I get my new PC. I'm gathering a bit of a collection ready for that day. ;-)

88321 2002-10-20 07:15:00 Okay - gottcha . . . missed that . Duh!

The original is a HUGE bmp file (1,612Kb) . . . do you want me to convert it to jpg or gif and send it through or send the orginal?

Yep, definitely got a grunty machine - with a few secrets B-)

The stuff we have on it and the settings we've chosen certainly don't seem to slow things down . Unlike my work machine, which I'm ready to throw through the plate glass windows!! X-( Never mind, the long-awaited upgrade for that one happens next week - from PII running crappy Win NT, to a P4 running Win 2000 . . . ahhhh, the relief! ;\

Anyhoo, let me know how you want the pic sent through!

Cheers
