2002-10-11 03:57:00 | " AND HE USES AVG! Good boy" LOL Chili. Yeah, I'm cheap too! :) Gifs, as you've probably tested, are better than jpg's only when the number of colours are 256 or less. " Yeah, my screenshot isn't that good looking is it? What I did was PrintScreen it, paste into PSP then resize it from 1024 x 768 pixels down to 800 x 600 and that's when it went blurry. How can I paste it as 800 x 600 in the first place and avoid having to resize it? I don't want to reduce my resolution just for a screenshot." Sue - I'd suggest if you want to resize etc, then save it into a non-lossy format first off, such as bitmap, then resize, then change format to jpg or whatever - I suspect that'd reduce the file size even lower than Chili's png method - worth a test. As I've said before, I ain't a graphic artist by any stretch, but I managed to optomise images for the Net quite nicely

2002-10-11 05:04:00 | Whats more interesting is the space used up by both of your browsers!, Mind you it's probably not an issue for you guys as you use 1024 x 768. But little ol me at 800 x 600, like to keep things as compact as possible for example (pages.quicksilver.net.nz)

2002-10-11 05:30:00 | No matter what I do, can't seem to get the hang of capturing a screen shot. My kilt must be at a funny angle or something BALDY:-)

2002-10-11 05:35:00 | Good point Roof. Hey Sue - I think a new trend's being set here - why not pick it up and post a new off-topic... "what does YOUR screenshot look like???"

2002-10-11 05:56:00 | Hey Balders... Hopefully I'm not insulting your experience - but in Windows, to take a screenshot... press the [Print Scrn] key, and it will capture a screen image into your system's Clipboard. That effectively copies the image, then you Paste it into an New file in any (or most) graphic manipulation programme you may have. If you wish to copy an image of only the current open pane (ie not the background full screen, but only the open application's screen), then hold the [Alt] key while pressing the [Print Scrn] key.

2002-10-11 06:29:00 | how many domains do you own Greg S. It seems as if every time you post it's a different domain. | -=JM=- (16) | |
2002-10-11 07:19:00 | I say, what was this topic about again? argus, it's all your fault!! :D Greg: I tried saving it as PSP and *.bmp images before resizing but it still went blurry. Had a look on the net and apparently there's nothing you can do about it, except change the resolution. Chill: The reason I wanted to resize it was because the file size was almost half with the smaller size and I was also trying to consider those with 800 x 600 screens. I might have been able to shrink it with the img src specifying 800 x 600 but that wouldn't shrink the file size. roofus: What's wrong with your desktop? Looks pretty to me. But yes, a 17" monitor does give you that bit extra space and I don't like using 15" monitors now. I've been spoilt. :D Clueless: Yes, we did have a "show your desktop" but that was on Candy. We must have one here too - good idea, I've started it! :D Baldy: straighten up your kilt, tell us exactly what you try and do and we'll walk you through it.
