88818 2002-10-13 12:41:00 Hello all. The left pane on my Windows Explorer (Win98SE) does not show desktop, my computer, my documents, etc. just a small 'X' button.

I've checked postings on the subject but all I've found are how to get the left pane back (e.g., View/Folder options/File type, etc, etc.).

On the menu, if I choose View/Explorer bar, I can check on Search, Media Favorites/History/Folders and displays accordingly but how do I get back the same list that appears in the address bar to show up on the left pane?

Sorry but this is starting to be one real "pane" or is the registry /root -ed ?

I'm a bit uncertain as to what you're trying to get to display in the lefthand pane? What I thought you were after was the folder list, but you say that if you click "Folders" it displays accordingly. So what is it?

88820 2002-10-13 23:13:00 Thanks, Mike. If I click on Favorites, that is what I get on the left hand pane. If I click on History - ditto.

But if I click on folders, I expected to see Desktop, My computer and its drives, My Document, etc. Instead, the pane is empty except for a small "X" close button. If I click on this, it closes the pane and I get a single one. Clicking on "View/Explorer Bar/Folders" brings back te 2-pane display with the left-hand side again blank.

Cheers
