88746 2002-10-13 06:03:00 This really only works on external dsl routers. I hear that internels aren't affected or can't connect. You'll probably need to read your manual on configuring you router/modem.

To prove that you get better performance from this you should ping you local ISP (xtra.co.nz, paradise.net.nz, etc) and record your results.

Now set your router to use G.Lite, save the configuration and then ping your local ISP. If performance has improved (mine dropped by 24ms) it's done. This tweak was posted in a gaming forum to help improve ping in games.

88748 2002-10-13 06:37:00 open up a command prompt.

Start|Run type "command" <enter> will open it.

to do the ping, type ping <your ISPs web address>

There is only one decent way to increase your DSL ping. It's kind of illegal and you need to know someone in the right area of telecom. They can remove the error correcting which will increase the pings dramatically...... but it will slow down the transfer rate.

88749 2002-10-13 06:44:00 If you're using Windows XP or later, you should replace "command" with "cmd" instead (with no quotes) utopia (2200)

try using command ;) it does work, just doesn't show the full paths it shows it with DOS ~'s.
