2002-10-15 23:49:00 | I know i've been messaging regarding this, in a old post, but for some reason my computer wont "read" that thread...it can read all others apart from that one..maybe it doesnt want the regions killed lol.. Anyway..I've got 1 change left...and 2 dvds to watch...but i dont want to coz i know if i change regions then..bad luck..no more changes.. So i want the best killer thingy around that can let me watch ANY zone dvds (unlimited)...on my computer dvd drive which is a samsung dvd/cdrw SM308B combo drive on a winxp home edition packard bell computer :-)

2002-10-15 23:57:00 | Chris, Go here, and scroll down to Samsung SM-308B :) there's a firmware patch for your exact drive - just make sure you get the one for Packard Bell (at the bottom of that list) That list is found at perso.club-internet.fr Firmware Page[/url] - selecting the Combo (for CDRW/DVD combo) from the list on the left. HTH Mike.

2002-10-16 00:01:00 | it gives me wald.heim.at then which one do i pick......

2002-10-16 00:08:00 | The one labelled as being for Packard Bell :) I'd assume that was wald.heim.at one[/url. But ONLY do this if you're willing to risk losing/damaging your drive. This process involves flashing the firmware of your drive, and if it's not done correctly, or if something goes wrong, you can permanently damage your drive :) Also you'll need the flash tool (which can also be found at that page - down the bottom in red there's a link) to do it, and you'll need to boot into DOS to do it. You've been warned :) (I've done it to make my drive region free - did it almost as soon as I got my drive). Mike. PS BTW it also will void any warranty on the drive :)

2002-10-16 00:29:00 | yeah will email someone i know..a computer geek also..its silly how they have limits on it, but i understand its coz of...copyed cds and yeah but if..someone runs out of regions they could "buy" more regions..like 10 changes for $20 perhaps from somewhere and enter the character key somewhere..and that it can only be used once..to stop it going online and everyone using the same key...and that way..the dvd producer can make more money..or even microsoft (damn lol)
