| 89892 | 2002-10-16 20:18:00 | Modem works perfectly after system startup - once. After disconnecting from server, a subsequent attempt to connect to server gets response of ...unable to find modem, may be disconnected, etc. A restart of the system activates the modem again. Thus, every use of the internet requires a start-up of the system. All obvious checks through Settings, etc show modem okay. All drivers have been updated. |

| 89894 | 2002-10-16 23:55:00 | jst Thanks for interest: Windows98, second ed. Modem is a new Dick Smith's DSE 56K - PCI Int HAM (An Intel) (It is a replacement - the first one, purchased a few weeks ago, did the same thing and I took it back to DSE and they willingly changed it for another - the one I'm currently using. It appears that the modem is okay). |

| 89895 | 2002-10-17 02:29:00 | Hi.. Could be a change in dialing properties, after disconnecting. Happened to me when I clicked on MSN browser...it had automatically changed the dialing properties for my modem... Cheers... |
