Error message: Rundll32 - This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

See Rundll32_a (support.microsoft.com) this tells you to do something like the following:

1. Click Start, Run, then type the following into the Open field: System.ini.
2. Click OK. The file should open in Notepad. If it does not, then a window
will appear titled Open With. Select Windows Notepad and click OK to continue.
3. If a line similar to drivers=mmsystem.dll can be found under [boot], then
place a semicolon ( ; ) at the beginning of that line. For example, the line
drivers=mmsystem.dll wndrv.dll is found underneath the [boot] section.
A semicolon is placed at the beginning of the line so that it looks like
;drivers=mmsystem.dll wndrv.dll.
4. Type the following new line under the [boot] section (see Figure 1):
drivers=mmsystem.dll
5. Click File, then Save from the text editor.
6. Close all open windows and restart the computer.

Also you could check Rundll32_b (support.microsoft.com)

Note there are any number of other reasons for RUNDLL32 errors under Win9x/ME these are but a couple. Hope some of this helps.

Cheers, Babe.
