90014 2002-10-17 01:00:00 I am running Red Hat 7.1
I downloaded an RPM package"animail" and used my terminal SU etc for install. All appeared ok but the program did not come up in "Internet"
any ideas where it could be?It does not show up in "find"either.

90015 2002-10-17 02:57:00 I don't know, but a "terminal" install might not automatically make entries to the GUI. I think that an install when the GUI is not running will not make entries: it has no way to know what GUI you might use.

You might need to use the graphic RPM installer. Try "apropos animail' for any help files. ... or use the graphic installer ... see what happens. :D It won't do any harm ... it might say the package has been installed, but it will let you "force" load and it will go to exactly the same places.

A few more commands when looking for programmes: "which animail", or just try "animail &" from the terminal window.

90017 2002-10-18 03:08:00 An rpm package puts things where they are needed for use. That's the whole idea of the package. If it's in /usr/lib/, its a "library", rather than an executable programme, I would think. What is it? Is it an addin to one of the browsers? Graham L (2)
