My interest lies in the fully featured Pro or Business versions so I have a question: In broad terms, what is the difference between W7 Pro and W7 Ultimate? I'd have more faith in your experience-based opinions than anything I might read on the web, which so far has just confuzzled me. :o Cheers Billy 8-{) |

And then followed up saying that if you dont use it, or need it, dont waste your money. So, knowing that, I have never bought it, and I actually dont think Ive come across a client with Ultimate yet. Pretty sure pro will do you fine. In fact if you dont connect t a domain of run Virtual XP Mode, you will probably find Win 7 Home Premium will do all you want it to. I'm guessing that VHD means 'virtual hard drive', and I have a vague idea of what that might do for me, but I don't pretend to understand what 'bit locker' is, or its ramifications, so I'll ask my old mate Google, and if my head doesn't explode I'll add Ultimate as an option to Pro . (windows.microsoft.com) :) Well, I asked Google and it appears that Bit Locker would be overkill for my needs, and the horror stories suggest that it is downright dangerous as well if things go wrong, so Pro will be quite adequate, and Ultimate too (without activating Bit Locker) if the price is right, so I'll look for best pricing on TM (legit copies only).
