| 1292500 | 2012-08-03 06:58:00 | My AMI went up $22 a month. However I also changed the cars to AA. Still a big increase though! I spoke to a girl at state today, to express my disgust and she said "Yes, I understand that some people are experiencing some financial difficulties in paying the increased premiums, how can I help you today?" (Tui ad here, such an understatement!) "Drop the premiums?" I said. LL |

| 1292503 | 2012-08-03 08:13:00 | Yeah, despite the underwriters being international, and the theory of insurance being that costs and risks are spread globally, these swine are using the Chch quakes as an excuse to heavily jack up the price across NZ, whereas the correct approach would be to add $0.50 to premiums across the globe to recover the Chch expenses. Just a pity our payments can't be held back as a means to ransom them to payout on the claims across Chch. My opinion of the insurance industry certainly hasn't improved, and once again the underwriters seem to be very receptive to profits, but always unwilling to actually underwrite the claims as they're supposed to... they jack up our premiums so that they don't have to dip into their own funds and assets. Time that these rich p#$%^ underwriters felt some pain. |

I am not looking forward to our House Insurance renewal in October although I was told by AMI that the increase was worst on Contents Insurance for us. Something had to go though but House Insurance is compulsory if you have a home loan, Car Insurance well AMI got dumped in favour of $100 plus saving on premiums with the AA. Shopping around when the renewal comes through either way but I have a feeling AMI will still be the cheapest for covering our house. |

| 1292506 | 2012-08-03 09:06:00 | Do you remember the 'Good Old Days' when State insurance was 'Owned' by the state? and was noticeably cheaper... That was Before we got all this wonderful 'Competition' and before we had to pay CEO's Millions of dollars a year. We need a review of the Insurance industry, to stop price gouging, because left to their own devices THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.What we need is a Fair deal, but wait, ShonKEY is in power,no way we can expect that to happen. Time for a Revolution! |
