1293825 2012-08-10 08:55:00 I'd heard teh beats sound quality was pretty good. But not for their price. I run 2 pairs of Sony MDRv500DJ headphones - love them had them for abotu 10 years. I don't actually think they're sold anymore which sucks.

THe senheiser look ok, the they also look uncomfortable.

1293826 2012-08-10 09:06:00 Don't Know any thing about headphones, but have a friend with a Bose setup which sounds incredible, so I would think their headphone would be of a similar standard. PPp (9511)
1293827 2012-08-10 21:32:00 Beats is an image thing, average sound (for the level of headphone) but the price margin is excessive! They are kinda like iDevices (iBeats?) but far far worse. At least iDevices actually work well for what they do and are not hugely overpriced.

I got a $50 pair of semi legit beats when I was in china last (the sound processor is "off the back of a truck" and the speakers are a decent build and provide nice sound). I don't think of them as beats. I think of them as a bloody good quality $50 headphones. Better than what $50 would get you in NZ.

1293828 2012-08-10 22:07:00 Haha! I am quite the Bose fan myself! Everyone at school is so obsessed with beats that they put them in every freaking homework task which can come out pretty weird. I'm trying to convince them that beats aren't that great. ^_^ Nikit07 (16761)
1293829 2012-08-10 22:13:00 One time one of my friends came over to my place and brought his beats with him. I tried them on and played a song, then put my own Koss headphones back on and played the same song. Beats bass was good but I expected that from $600us headphones but the sound quality was actually worse than my $150 Koss! The background hum was much louder and the music also came out way more muffled! Nikit07 (16761)
1293830 2012-08-10 23:01:00 Yeah, I agree with The Error Guy. In fact, do a bit of research and you'll see there's a *lot* of stuff against the Beats brand. For the better part on the likes of the HTC phones it's just an equalizer... Chilling_Silence (9)
1293831 2012-08-10 23:51:00 Go into the shop and try the differant ones out. Sound is very conjective. What sounds good to one person may sound shite to another. I like a fairly bassie sound and when somone comes round they till me to turn the bass down as they don't like it.

1293832 2012-08-11 00:04:00 beats are overpriced ****, that's all you need to know. Look into manufacturers of decent music kit, and you'll know what to look for in good headphones.
Bose, sennheiser, etc all make top quality mics and audio kit.

Quite seriously buying beats is like buying a couple of turds to strap to your ears and then play music through.

1293833 2012-08-11 00:37:00 My mate bought some fake beats off some site in Hong Kong for $30. He said they sound better than his $50 panasonic headphones.. Well maybe the fake beats are decent, but the real stuff is crap. sahilcc7 (15483)
