1293460 2012-08-07 02:26:00 Putting costs aside, I like Actrix from all the ISPs I have tried.

We have Telstraclear just b/c of their special deal. We just use the net generally, pretty ok. We had Xnet before, bit on the slow side. Orcon was good, decent speeds, bit better than Telstraclear. But again we don't use anything too intensively.

1293462 2012-08-07 02:29:00 Vodafone are not fine. They suck badly.

Well OK, they suck less than Telstraclear if you're on a budget, but otherwise don't go with them.

Better? ;)

Telecom doesn't do naked DSL (yet)

Try Actrix or Snap.

1293465 2012-08-07 05:05:00 Xnet and international data do not mix well.
Fortunately for my requirements, mixing was not desired; all XNet are needed for is delivering data. They do that well for me 95% of the time, and quite adequately for the other 5% of the time. (Using the Fusion plan, for almost as long as XNet has been in existence.)

1293466 2012-08-07 05:36:00 +1 for Snap. Usually just works and anytime Ive had a problem Im straight through in the call centre to someone who can actually help me fix the problem. $70 for internet only (30 gigs per month which should be enough). Barnabas (4562)

1293469 2012-08-07 08:27:00 They all suck, but finding the one that sucks the least is the key.

I am with Slingshot, and have just changed to their Naked BB Unlimited for $90 per month. With that deal, I get 1500 minutes on italk for $10 per month. All up $100 per month, No Telecom. Not all that cheap but I can't complain of their service at all and get reasonable BB speeds. (Up to 12 Mbps download and 87kbps upload) Guess that depends on where you are.
