90380 2002-10-18 06:38:00 I will get a dvd decoder card on ebay for like ... $10US. the Cinemaster 3 "C" works in win2k and winxp. Or a Hollywood Plus card .... these are $250-350 at Ascent Wellington!! DVD ROM is also cheap too like $40US.

I read w/ the most eff. cinmaster s/w decoder its not enof ... need a pent 1, 233 and a good video card.

Cheers

90381 2002-10-18 22:52:00 I think you might find that a P1 will struggle with a soft decoder, especially at full screen antmannz (28)
90382 2002-10-18 23:53:00 I've got a P133 with an Encore hardware decoder. It works surprisingly well for DVD. It's the decoder that does all the work as opposed to the cpu, so tthe cpu speed doesn't really matter a whole lot. It's a good use for an old PC that would be chucked out otherwise. crozier (2004)
