| 90418 | 2002-10-18 00:18:00 | Hey guys +gals.... Looks like im the idiot again.. I'm trying to install XP in a 10 gig hdd, in the second 5 gig partition (the fist gig contains 98 SE (which isnt running as the partition is nolonger recognised a dos or active), I'm almost there and then I get a blue screen with "PNF_list_corrupt....see your systems administrator" Also a comment asking if ive installed any new H/w or S/w which other than the bungeled XP I havent..... Tried 3 times each time the same.. what can i do??? |

| 90419 | 2002-10-18 00:35:00 | Options: Try another MS OS into the same partition. Reduce the size of the first partition to under 4 gig and retry. Get another computer and install into that. In the past MS OS have had inbuilt limitations relating to recognising 1024 cylinders (DOS based OS), recognising partitions larger than 4096Mb (NT based OS) and system files outside the first 2048 Mb (DOS based OS). Recently MS have acknowledged there may be a problem with IDE disk write speed and XP resulting in errors. |
