90400 2002-10-18 04:04:00 Copy and paste this into a HTML file and save it as your homepage. Great for quick access to PF1 and also for searching google when helping out fellow PF1'ers

What do you guys think? What's the most common homepage at the moment?
Here it is:

<HTML>

<HEAD>
<TITLE>My Home Page</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET ROWS="130,*" SCROLLING="NO" FRAMEBORDER="1" FRAMESPACING="0" BORDER="0">
<FRAME SRC="http://www.google.co.nz" NAME="google" noresize scrolling="no" marginheight="2">
<FRAME SRC="http://www.pressf1.co.nz" NAME="Pressf1" noresize marginheight="2">

</FRAMESET><noframes></noframes>

Cheers

90401 2002-10-18 04:07:00 You don't need frames...

and how do you scroll the results if you do a google search?

90402 2002-10-18 04:09:00 Oh, sorry.. I see what you're at. SoniKalien (792)
90403 2002-10-18 06:27:00 Very nice - except I cannot view the results of the Google search. SiK has obviously figured it out, but I cannot. Could you explain how please :D

Cheers

90404 2002-10-18 06:48:00 I'm afraid the Google top frame takes up far too much of my PF1 webpage view. Sorry, but I don't like it. Good try though. Susan B (19)
90405 2002-10-18 07:24:00 I'm sticking with about:blank for IE. -=JM=- (16)
90406 2002-10-18 10:35:00 Ok the correct code:

<HTML>

<HEAD>
<TITLE>My Home Page</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET ROWS="20%,*" FRAMEBORDER="1" FRAMESPACING="0" BORDER="0">
<FRAME SRC="http://www.google.co.nz" NAME="google" marginheight="2">
<FRAME SRC="http://www.pressf1.co.nz" NAME="Pressf1" marginheight="2">
</FRAMESET>

You want scrolling because the search results will not fit into a 100 pixel high frame. So all 'scrolling = no' was removed.

Also set top frame to a percentage rather than an absolute value as everyone has different screen sizes.

There is a better way to do this, however frames works (often) and the other way is a little more complicated.

90407 2002-10-18 10:37:00 ooops also remove 'noresize' cos being able to enlarge/ shrink frames could be handy.

Good to see some creative thinking though..

90408 2002-10-18 10:39:00 I don't know... I think I would rather keep using my Mozilla with multiple tabs.. in fact my startup 'page' is 3 tabs with 2 othem being search engines and the 3rd is PressF1.

Cheers, Babe.

90409 2002-10-18 10:52:00 what about using opera, with pressf1 set as the homepage, that way you get a wee google search toolbar, and the full functionality of the PressF1 site :p
