90659 2002-10-18 23:54:00 MS Word give great protection when you select Protect this file, it becomes unreadable and asks for a password before allowing it to be opened. I dont think the same thing is available in Excel.

Short of making an opening & closing macro to change the Font colour to White, is there another way to stop prying eyes from reading its contents?

This file sits on an open Desktop, with an Icon to allow opening. Please Dont mention Winzip, as sometimes PC illeriate staff have to find, open & use the file.

Thanks.....John.

Excel has a 'Protection' feature see within Excel Tools | Protection | Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook or Protect and Share Workbook

Have you tried either of those options?

Babe.
