I'll agree to this one, I'm no fans of PC company (never will), but rather blamming 100% on the PC cases, when you purchaed those 40 PCs for your company, shouldn't you or the person in charge of the purchases done a bit of research or planning? If front USB ports is so important to you. :D

Even home users comes to our shop and asked about what cases u have and does it have front USB ports, does it have this and that...etc.

In a car senario ...

If you like to go to starbucks every morning to grab a coffee on your way to work then you would want to buy a car with cup holders, you will check whether the car have cup holders before u buy it. Not blamming 100% on the car manufacturer that every car shoud have cup holders (but i think they should :D) it is an optional thing.

Of course there are times when ppl do forget things, maybe the car have so many other goodies at that time u've forgotten all about cup holders. You'll find a way to solve this... get one of those cup holders that clips onto the air vent, I know it doesn't look good but it solves the problem. And this is what all the ppl in this thread is trying to do by saying ... get external hub, get extension cable...etc. I know it looks messy on your desktop, but it solves the problem. :D

Cheers

90866 2002-10-21 22:08:00 just a side note.......i went looking for a case with front usb ports for someone a while ago and do you think i could find one? not a chance(except for the very expencive top end cases). bloody hard to sell em if no one bothers importing them. i know of a few companies who bring in a ranfge of cases that have optoinal front usb ports but they don't import the usb optoin :( tweak'e (174)

Is front port USB cases that hard to find? I have seen one around $125 and the cheapest I've seen is around $79 . . . :D

90868 2002-10-21 22:38:00 at the time the few companies that did bring in sub $200 cases with usb where out of stock and had a 2-3 week wait. tweak'e (174)
90869 2002-10-22 03:18:00 In the late 70s and early 80s I was complaining about RS232 connectors at the back of computers. In the later 80s I was still hating PCs which had the RS232 connectors at the back. I still hate it (and) printer ports ... X-( Graham L (2)

90871 2002-10-25 08:32:00 Well I have never had a thread I started run to two pages; feel extremely honoured .

Though I do need to make some replies here, feel like I'm being hammered! :)

Biff: Well what do you want us to do about it? You've answered your own question; -buy systems with USB ports at the front .

Agreed! I was just having a good old whinge about it .

Sure but I wasn't around then so could not make any suggestions on the USB front . . . the machines I have been involved with the purchasing of have front mounted USB - so yes I am heeding my own advice .

90872 2002-10-25 10:57:00 I really don't know why nobody else explained this. It's really very simple. The plugs are all made for the northern hemisphere - it's a much larger market and, of course, they wouldn't be upsidedown uo there would they! crozier (2004)
