| 90770 | 2002-10-19 08:36:00 | Dear Anyone Please help...... I use Outlook Express 6 and it seems to have spontaneously started to deny me access to all e-mail attachments sent to me... with a note saying "OE has removed access to the following unsafe attachments......." Why is this happening, as these are definetely SAFE attachments from trustworthy sources. Please help Pierre Botha |

| 90771 | 2002-10-19 09:02:00 | This was posted today (just a few lines down from yours) by Babe Ruth If you are using Outlook Express as you mail program then it is probably because the Security of OE is set to NOT allow opening of attachments that may be virii. To check this in OE goto TOOLS | OPTIONS | SECURITY and see if their is a check mark in the box " Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". If you WANT/NEED to open that attachment and you are SURE it is a valid attachment from someone that you personally know then you could uncheck that box and open the attachment. Reset the security when you have finished and before you close OE. Its NOTHING to do with the attachment having/not having a virus, its a global setting for all types of attachments that COULD carry a virus |
