| 91082 | 2002-10-20 05:38:00 | I have had a problem with the above app..it won;t run and say's run time error 9 subscript out of range..I have posted about this before the pc company has sent me the following instructions to fix it and hopefully get it to work.. i have done the ist part but am a bit unsure of doing the second part could someone advise if it is safe to do this... Try the following method to solve the problem Click on START, CONTROL PANEL Double-click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS Locate PRASSI and remove from the list Once removed, go back to the CONTROL PANEL and double-click on SYSTEM Click on HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER Click on the + next to DVD/CD-ROMS Right-click on the device that has now appeared and click on UNINSTALL. Click OK to the warning. Close out of all screens so you are back at the main screen Now do the following: · Click on START, RUN · Type in msconfig and click on OK · A box called SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY will appear · Click on the tab (at the top) that says STARTUP · Untick each program within this tab (click on the tick to remove it) and click on OK · It will ask you to restart. Click on RESTART · When the computer restarts, and you are back into Windows and box saying YOU ARE USING THE SELECTIVE START-UP will appear · Tick DO NOT SHOW THIS AGAIN and click OK Once back into windows, the drivers of the CDR-Rom will have reinstalled. Insert the PRASSI cd and install the program. Try to write a CD and see what happens. Try writing the CD at a lower speed (eg 8x) Regards David Marsh, CBC, DipBC I have had the computer in the pc shop for another problem last month they uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still does'nt work |

| 91084 | 2002-10-20 22:34:00 | Got same setup, have a look at http://www.cdrfaq.org/ Section 6 Subject [6-1-21] has some info on Prassi Worth bookmarking site. If you want to compare driver etc versions that you have installed with my setup please advise. Running Win XP Home Edition with SP1. The CD I have is Version 2.0.753 with Veritas DLA V2.1a, it does not include XP on list, the Prassi PromoCD Plus was preinstalled and I suspect PC Company installed drivers for XP that are not on the CD. |

Re being safe suggest you query with sender as unticking will cover both Window Current version and Common Startup items, did he intend to include the Common Startup items?. Re drivers could'nt locate any with Prassi but went to Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager | cl + DVD/CD-ROM drives | right click ATAPI CD-R/RW 16 x 10 | cl Properties | Mine gives Driver Microsoft date 1/07/2001 version 5.1.2535.0, | Driver file Details File version 5.1.2600.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920) | This lists 4 files, one is C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys Found this file details are SCSI CD-ROM Driver, MS File version 5.1.2600.1106, Created 19/08/2001, size 46.3 Kb |

For info been fossicking, opened Prassi, cl go to full application, cl help, cl Troubleshooting drivers error codes, there is a massive great list but could'nt find your error. Might be worth going to the Prassi support site. |

| 91091 | 2002-10-21 20:52:00 | Another thought, remembered about 5 years ago Omega Zip drives had a problem that if you had a corrupted file, uninstalled, reininstalled it all turned to custard as there were 3 files that were not removed by uninstalling and they had to be manually removed per Omega instructions before you reinstalled. Current update of firewall Zonealarm needs a similar cleansing operation before you update. Query, has Prassi Primo a similar problem. | FrankS (257) | ||
