91078 2002-10-20 05:05:00 Has anyone converted mov files into mpeg, avi files? is this possible? nzwalkabout (299)
91079 2002-10-20 06:13:00 Um, Im not sure if this will help, but look down the Topics page or search, for Capturing Streaming Media. An item there 2-3 days back. Theres a link to a file download, suggest you try that if all else fails. John W (523)
91080 2002-10-20 06:20:00 The .mov files will probably be mpeg now?
What software do you have, I think Wincoder will translate.

Have just converted 3+ hours of old home movies (put on VHS professionally 12 years ago). I converted them to VCD format but I had choices. The 12 years is past the use-by for tape life, so thought I would make them permanent

Wincoder is not free I gather, mine came with the video capture card. I tried using other software on a PIII 667 Mhz machine but not enough grunt. Using a 2 GHz P4 its not a problem.
