91603 2002-10-22 05:04:00 Can someone tell me whether AVG 6 Free edition is any good?

My NAV 2002 subscription is going to run out in the next few days so I'm looking around for a good (and cheap) substitute.

Is it adware/spyware?

Does it scan incoming & outgoing emails?

I know I could find most to this info on grisoft’s site, but I’m lazy :D

Cheers

91609 2002-10-22 21:27:00 One bug I have found with the AVG system, under 'AVG Anti-Virus System Information', Computer tab, it says I’m running Windows 2000 Pro version 5.1 on an Intel Pentium processor, actually In running windows NT 5.1 (commonly called WIN XP) on an AMD Athalon Processor!

Other than that the system is excellent, not to mention FREE!

Cheers

Liam.
