"it appears you have the correct setup files but the installation failed try closing down all other programes and try running setup again"

91328 2002-10-21 06:56:00 Hi luckysmum

Small tip: you don't need to post twice, you sometimes have to wait a while for a reply - it depends who's around at the moment.

Posting twice also causes confusion when different people reply to both your threads and don't realise what has already been suggested.

Good luck with a solution.

91330 2002-10-21 07:13:00 Looking back on your previous problems may suggest that it could be a problem with Windows itself. IE6 doesnt take kindly to being uninstalled sometimes as well. Have you considered backing up all your data (off the PC onto CD if you have a writer) and re-installing the system?

I note you have a HP model, they come with a restore CD (or CDs).

Before you think too hard about it, it is a simple process but you will lose all settings and programs you have installed, it will be just like it was when it came from the shop.

Another tip, if you could use punctuation in your posts, as without capitalisation and full stops, even when you read it 3 times it is hard to come to grips with.

This could be why you are not getting a lot of replies.
