91289 2002-10-21 02:48:00 Doesn't sound so much like a hacker, as a close associate that knows something about you.
That person would then have looked at your secret question and then been able to access your account.
That person now has control of your account, and there isn't really a way for getting it back.
Next time make the secret question a bit more obscure

91290 2002-10-21 02:53:00 Did you leave a public computer logged into Hotmail? Bad move. :_|

You are basically locked out. I don't think that the "management" will bother to help you. It's free ... and they don't want to spend time (=money) on looking after non-paying users. You could try ... but I don't like your chances.

91291 2002-10-21 03:26:00 Its probably a pain, but just get another Free email account, (theres heaps around) then notify all your email contacts of the new one.

As far as passwords go, try and think up an obscure one (I use my Grannies phone number, and always shut Hotmail down after use (even if you are at home) so as no-one can change your p/word when you ain't looking.

Keep trying to access your Hotmail - I hear there has been a problem lately, which has locked some users out. It might become active again

91293 2002-10-21 03:29:00 AFAIK, there's some method you can use, even though you've forgotten the answer to your secret question too. I've got my session set to expire after the minimum time.

Secret Question. It's supposed to be something that only you know the answer to, not your fathers middle name or something like that (That's just dumb).

I think you can mail them or submit an online form or something, but the previous advice was spot on, Just get a new one!

91294 2002-10-21 03:52:00 LOL.... I got mine set to my Dads middle name...... Suppose it was a dumb thing to do. Will have to think of a more obscure one. Baldy (26)

91296 2002-10-21 05:41:00 >>> yeah i would give u my email addy but u lite do what the first guy did

So what? you aren't using it - if he does do it, then at least it'd just piss the other guy off. If he doesn't do it, then maybe you'll get use of your email address again.

91297 2002-10-21 06:56:00 and if you DO post your email address here - disguise it. eg me AT the hot spot (where "me" is your user name)

Posters will know what you mean but the spiders won't recognise it as an address.

(Spiders search forums and before you know it.... spam, spam, spam...)
