91461 2002-10-21 21:07:00 Hi
When I boot my machine, the internet dial up window starts and will connect unless I cancel quickly. I think this has something to do with Netscape 7 but cannot find an option to stop it.
Help please!!!

91462 2002-10-21 21:10:00 I have seen this before on a few PC's and the problem was always spyware of some sort.

Download and install Ad-Aware and run it to clean these out.

91463 2002-10-21 21:21:00 Have you installed a recent release of ZoneAlarm?
This is a known issue with this application

91464 2002-10-21 22:14:00 Yes I have run Add-Aware and got a clean bill of health.
Not Zone Alarm but it does have Tiny Personal Firewall.

91465 2002-10-21 23:21:00 If it is XP check this.

Go to ControlPanel/Network Connections
From the menu at the top click on Advanced and select Dialup preferences
Uncheck everything in "Enable Autodial from Location"

91466 2002-10-22 00:42:00 Rik,

Open Tiny Personal Firewall, and turn off the auto-update option (it might be called something like "Automatically check for updates") - this should stop it trying to dial out to check for updates :)

91467 2002-10-22 01:31:00 Have yuo got Kazza loaded? It defaults to loading during start up, and will dial out for you.... falvrez (390)
91468 2002-10-22 01:37:00 It could be any number of things, file sharing programs, anti-virus software, anything that might want updates. Otherwise... You may have caught a virus... Congrats... ;)
