2002-10-21 10:47:00 | Cannot get Digimax 350SE to connect to photo program MGI PhotoSuite III SE installed on Windows Me. But can view the photos on the camera storage device on the associated program "Digimax Viewer" on the installation disk that came with the camera. In Device Manager > USBs, with the camera switched on and set to download, the item Samsung Storage Device 350SE appears, but there is a green circle with a question mark beside the USB logo to its left. Have carefully followed installation instructions in the manual, but the Found New Hardware wizard doesnt appear. Have re-installed Me and re-started from scratch with no result. Anyone help please? Dave.

There site is here (www.samsungcamera.co.uk) Another solution (in case the software doesnt like your chipset or OS) is to use a card reader. They are quite cheap, I use one in preference to my Fuji camera package, they appear as a removeable drive and you just plug your memory card in. |

2002-10-22 09:29:00 | Thanks Godfather, I checked the downloads but none are suitable for my system. I would really like to correct the problem, so if you have any other ideas I would be grateful for them. Haven't heard of a card reader before, will investigate: but if it plugs into the USB won't I have the same problem? Regards, Dave.

2002-10-22 09:38:00 | Card readers I have used have no problems, they are recognised by the later series of windows as removable drives. Camera software seems to be very picky though. Most card readers dont even need software on later systems, they are recognised by windows system files. Also readers are very portable, and you can download the photos on other computers, where you would not want to install software. My reader does both CF and SmartMedia cards, some do 3 types of cards. It cost about NZ$80 in Sydney a few months ago That looks like a good camera!

2002-10-22 09:46:00 | i got MGI photosuite III SE aswell, apparently it was made to be an image editer for scanners, doesn't work even a bit, if not all with digital cameras. U'll have to go to the MGI website and download the patch they created for it a while ago. cheers, v.K------------------ :D

2002-10-25 07:43:00 | SUCCESS! In desperation I uninstalled the camera driver and MGI software, connected the camera to the USB, switched it on and opened My Computer and there was the CF card as Drive G. Double-clicked on Drive G, copied the pix files to a C:\ folder and associated them with PhotoShop Elements. As expected, the Drive disappeared when I disconnected the camera. Thanks a lot folks, it's been a real struggle. Dave.
