For a word processor, look at Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org), but first look at Wordpad, it'll already be installed on your machine. For a free chess game, take a look at FreeWare Home (www.freewarehome.com). Your machine will take any game you can throw at it. If you're into chess, you may prefer games such as Civilisation 3 or Empire Earth rather than Doom 3, pop into your local computer shop and ask about them. |

We'd all love to have a nice rig like yours and nearly everyone here would be putting all that grunt to good use. Once you get the hang of it and a bit more experience you will too. :-) Just stick with the WinXP that's on it and try out some of the word processing and other programs recommended here to start with. |
