91839 2002-10-23 22:19:00 well having used nortons 2000, 2001, 2002 and now 2003 i can say that 2003 is the best of them. antivirus scanning time is improved. the only things i don't like is the MS influence.

the fact that you have to install IE to install nortons means i won't be recommending it in a hurry. it would be good for winXP users (as they aready have IE6).

91840 2002-10-23 22:25:00 it wouldnt surprise me if Microsoft owned Nortons...
I have always thought Nortons was its own company..but, microsoft must have a hand in it to have it perfectly running with its programs and stuff..i have a gut feeling they are definately a shareholder in Nortons if not a owner..

I've got Nortons Internet Secruity...had a thread on here about filtering pornographic and many other bad sites...and havent actually tried Nortons Internet secruity yet...but got told it can actually do that thing, so have borrowed the cd off a friend to see if it does block/filter bad sites :)
.. DOes it actually do that?

91841 2002-10-24 01:31:00 Yes, i now have systemworks 2003 also.
By the looks of it, its the same as 2002. Havn't given it a full virus scan yet so cant comment on the speed of that.
I was pretty stoked about getting the professional edition. I thought i'd won just the standard version. :-)
