92850 2002-10-25 05:41:00 hi im running xp pro and i have added my hotmail account to outlook express. i have let outlook synchronise the folders with hotmail and that went fine. when i click send and recieve it takes ages to check. and when it is finally finished the messages are super slow to load up, and when i try and delete the e-mails it takes so long that i cant be stuffed waiting for it to fininsh. have you got any suggestions or do i just have to put up with this problem?

92851 2002-10-25 08:13:00 It does take a little longer than ordinary emails but it shouldn't take as long as if you went to the online Hotmail.

When I get my hotmail I just click on Send/Receive, choose the hotmail account and it normally only takes about 30 seconds to grab them.

In Outlook Express's Tools>Accounts click on your hotmail account, choose Properties and get rid of the tick in "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising" as sometimes it causes problems. Just use the above method to get the emails manually.

Also, in Tools>Options>Read remove the tick from "Automatically download message when viewing in the Preview pane" if you have your preview pane enabled as that will speed things up a lot.
