92591 2002-10-24 08:27:00 Can I cutomise my stink no extra features beige keyboard to have volume control using let say f keys(I find hovering the mouse over the volume control then clicking then sliding not overly intuitive)os win 98 Ron Bakker (356)
92592 2002-10-24 19:33:00 Probably not, but if you are lucky there may be a program around somewhere that will do the job. Do a search on Google or have a look around the download sites. You never know.

Personally, that's the only feature I miss when I disabled all the buttons on this keyboard so the new one will only have to have a volume button at least.

92593 2002-10-24 20:58:00 two options:

1. You might be able to design a macro to do it. Windows macros are simple to create and there are many options in terms of software to create one.

2. You can purchase new keyboards with a volume control.

92594 2002-10-25 05:10:00 I use Win 98 and created a keyboard shortcut to volume controls . I chose to use Ctr+Shift+V .

That brings up the volume controls by using keystrokes, but I then use the mouse to move the sliders as it is quicker .

For mouseless use you can control the slider controls by using the Tab key and the up or down arrow keys but it is not quick . (use shift tab for reverse selecting)

That method does not show one volume box only though, like the one you get when you left click on the speaker icon by the clock . It shows the lot, according to your settings for what is to appear when you right click on the speaker icon to open volume controls .

If you use Win Media Player, the F9 and F10 keys control the sound volume there, but once again it is not quicker .
