92761 2002-10-24 23:44:00 I have recently upgraded a HP Vectra VE from windows98 to XP pro.
But now when the computer is shut down it does not automatically turn off, as it used to. How do I solve this?

92762 2002-10-25 00:20:00 Don't know if it's the same in XP but in Win2k in the Control Panel Power Options icon there is an option to enable Advanced Power Management Support.

I had the same problem and enabling that fixed it.

Hope this helps!

If CYaBro 's suggestion doesn't do the trick for you, then install the Shutdown updates for Winxp from the Microsoft Windows Update Site or install Windows XP Service Pack 1. (Note SP1 is approx 134Mb)
