| 92978 | 2002-10-27 23:14:00 | i realy don't get how this could be happening.. i run 98SE, on primary IDE i have 2 HDD's on the secondry IDE cable i have a CDRW as master and as Slave i have whatever i feel like, sometimes another HDD, sometimes the ZIP Drive, which only gets plugged in IF i need it, or if i have had no other use for that cable recently I just plug it in and it goes.. simple... I tell my system to call the zip "Z" (imaginative ey?) and it seems to deal with this sort of thing without a hitch... Is there anything else thats a bit weird in your system since the reformat? |

| 92980 | 2002-10-27 23:41:00 | Realmode drivers? Tell me more. Actually, I should probably go back to the firm I bought it off. It came as a replacement rather than a full kit. Just the drive - no cables, instructions or disks. So therefore just plugged it in. It was AFTER it was installed that I downloaded iomegaware and installed that. >>Is there anything else thats a bit weird in your system since the >>reformat? Yes. But not caused by the reformat - by the power failures AFTER the reformat (and I still haven't bought a UPS - haven't had a power outage since so it's still on the "Good Idea" list). WinProxy causes a bit of trouble at times but it limps along and generally behaves. My usual problems are lack of memory (largly caused by running ColdFusion server, PWS and WinProxy) |
