I've just paid $19.95US for my Norton 2001 upgrade. But I also use the free AVG antivirus. Both good. |

we tried what duckyduck said to put it in standby and it made no difference we still couldn't do a defrag, I suggested getting rid of Norton and trying AVG do you recommend this after what we have tried? |

Thats your choice Mandy, I like AVG. What your problem seems to be (as mine was) is that something is still running even in safemode, and so preventing your defrag from completing. I always disable whatever I can when doing this (antivirus/firewall and anything else except explorer) and then run EndItAll as in my above post, and close between 3 and 6 further applications that are running in the background. |
