| 94013 | 2002-10-29 02:32:00 | I am using Windows ME, have Win Amp and Win media player. Up until a few days ago had no problem with audio output. However when ever I go to play a music CD it opens with player that is not knowingly installed on my system. It is a small rectangular box which has CDA in it, and the time remaining for the track. It can't be turned off, as it has no close option, nor does it appear in the taskbar or in the close programs box. Ejectiing the CD stops it. Opening Win player it reads as does not support this format, {it is set for cda) then if you persist explorer has problems and resets. In Win Amp nothing happens. Apart from Clone CD and Paintshop pro I have not, installed any new programs in this time apart from games that my kids have installed. All data CDs games etc work well and both players play we music off the hard drive. It's hard to track down this player as there are no traces when it opens. Any help appreciated, Bill |

In the lower half of the window it should say: Extension: CDA Content Type(MIME): Opens With: <whatever player your system is using> For more information (like where the player is stored), click Edit... > Play > Edit... This will give you the command line that is used to launch the player. eg. c:\windows\cdplayer.exe -play |
