93907 2002-10-28 23:51:00 I have a really annoying problem .......
XP crashes/hangs for no apparent reason at all. May it be surfing the net, watching videos or while I'm in the toliet it will crash .... whenever it wants to . I've tried to find the source of the problem but no luck. I was gonna use system restore but I realised that the earliest restore point is when xp was still crashing. So no point there.
Does anyone knoe how to find out why it crashes? I've unchecked the auto restart in event of error. The thing is when the computer hangs it just stops nothing at all is going, so when I go to restart xp doenst detect an error. So it just resumes as normal.

please help???

93908 2002-10-29 00:39:00 Hi, your toilet is situated too far from the PC. Install a repeater or booster. ;) crozier (2004)
93909 2002-10-29 00:59:00 dkbaj,

Looking back at all your postings to PressF1 from 20July through to 29Oct . . . there is a consistent pattern of asking for help but not necessarily getting a lot of feedback . With all the problems you are having with your PC I suggest you start again with a format and clean install of WinXP for your setup .

Firstly make sure you have backed up all your own personal data including your email if using a client-based email program (e . g . Outlook Express) .

Download ALL the appropriate updates for your system including motherboard (drivers), video (drivers), any special hardware you have etc .

Once you have all the updates/drivers/upgrades you think you need then you can go ahead with a clean install . I don't think it's really possble to answer your problems because it could any one of many things e . g . heat buildup, wrong m/b or video driver incompatible hardware/software . . . any thing .

Then before all that final crash/burn/install read the PressF1 FAQ (see top of main PressF1 page) there is some useful information and guidance there .

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful to the specific? problem(s) you have .

Cheers, Babe .

93910 2002-10-29 02:04:00 >xp crashing while in toilet

??????????This can't be serious.......

unless... Its a rural property with a pump.. thats right a pump, one flush and theres a HUGE power drain caused by pump starting up, and the computer restarts due to mains voltage falling to low to sustain it........
Solution.. don't flush without first shutting down computer
