When i go to print a document a screen comes up with a printing window but nothing happens, and the document and printing windows lockup. I have been through the printing trouble shooting everything seems to be ok. Can someone tell me how i can get the printer to print Thanks in advance Al |

| 93783 | 2002-10-28 05:54:00 | Step 1. Uninstall the drivers and reinstall. Does it work now? Step 2. Goto the HP site and download updated drivers. Does it work now? Step 3. Report back here |

But windows does freeze up when there are loose contacts and worn out cables. :) I'm only posting some solutions that i think could be the answer. :) |

| 93787 | 2002-10-28 07:23:00 | Have you tried installing the printer drivers off the Win98 disk? When a printer first comes out the existing OS doesn't know about it - after all, the printer wasn't around when the OS was created. Later versions of the OS come out complete with the drivers. It could be that your drivers on the printer disk are the opposite. Created for Win 95 rather than Win98. You therefore need newer drivers to work with 98. |
