| 1295185 | 2012-08-17 05:32:00 | Do you think steam, uplay etc are going to spell the end for physical game shops like EB Games as far as PC games go? Some of those game shops must be starting to struggle, I hardly see anyone in the local one and when there is, they dont appear to be browsing the PC section. | Iantech (16386) | ||

Apparently so: www.neogamr.net Also EA announced that they want to go entirely digital. |

| 1295187 | 2012-08-17 06:17:00 | So, if those physical shops close, how do people with playstation, nintendo, xbox etc get on? Is there a similar service like steam for game consoles, or would you have to buy the software from an online game shop such as firstgames or something? Or can you download games and install them on your games console? Sorry, it is something I dont know much about never owning a games console, so excuse me if they sound like dumb questions. |

| 1295188 | 2012-08-17 06:36:00 | You can purchase xbox games from xbox live arcade (both full and "arcade" games) with microsoft points, which you buy from shops or with your visa for around $8-9 for 800 points. The PlayStation network sells play station 3 titles (both retail/full and arcade or titles that never reach retail) I'm 99% sure you purchase with actual cash but you can also get pre-loaded cards with say $20 on them from stores. Nintendo also has an online store which sells full games and legacy titles, it's a platform that very few indie/arcade titles get developed for (correct me if I'm wrong). | icow (15313) | ||
