1293883 2012-08-10 08:54:00 Well, our house has been sold and we are getting ready to move. I have decided we are leaving Telecom and have got Snap naked DSL at the new place.

All I need now is a VoIP service provider - so far I am inclined towards http://www.2talk.co.nz/

Does anyone have a better suggestion or maybe some bad reports on 2talk ?

Appreciate your thoughts (as always) :thanks

PS - also need recommendations on an ATA

1293884 2012-08-10 09:10:00 I'm with Slingshot's I talk and get 1500 minutes per month for $21. That includes national and international calls. Calls to mobiles are 26 cents per min I think. Don't make many of those.

1293887 2012-08-10 14:53:00 Get yourself a nice Linksys SPA2102, probably the best ATA out there.

2talk are great, their support is best when not in a hurry, but they're pretty decent still. Probably one of the most reliable VoIP providers in the country if you ask me...

One thing to be aware of: If you have a shitty router, it will make it fall over and everything will fall to pieces...

1293888 2012-08-12 08:08:00 We have been on 2talk for about 6 months. The phone has never failed except for short spells if the naked broadband is down. The charges are lower than Skype and does not need the computer, just a standard modem/router and the adapter box Linksys, can't remember the model, haven't seen it for months. A local area free call number in addition to the standard number is $6 a month. Mobiles are 21cts minute. Most other calls 7cts minute. Help desk is excellent and usually reply to an email on the same day. It is a Kiwi outfit and deserves our support! mzee (3324)

1293891 2012-08-13 08:49:00 Thanks, guys.

I see that the Linksys SPA2102 is end-of-line and being replaced with the SPA122.
I've ordered one from Ascent and will let you know how I get on.
